Main dysfunctions in the postpartum period

Urinary incontinence

In the postpartum period it is very common for urine losses to appear. However, this should not be normalized as it may indicate that something is wrong with your pelvic floor.

pelvic pain

Pain can appear due to birth events such as tears and soft tissue trauma.

Constipation

Hemorrhoids, anal fissures, pain at the episiotomy site, the effects of pregnancy hormones, and antianemic drugs used in pregnancy can increase the risk of postpartum constipation.

Pelvic organ prolapse

Pelvic organ prolapse occurs when one or more of the pelvic organs descend from their normal position and protrude into the vagina.

Abdominal diastasis

Separation of the rectus abdominis can occur after pregnancy, causing weakness in the abdominal muscles, back pain, poor posture, and a bloated appearance in the abdomen.

Pain during sexual intercourse

Pain or discomfort with intercourse during the postpartum period is too often considered common or even normal, but we should not normalize the pain.
